I am offering a deal for all training programs. If you commit to 30 days, at 4 days a week (approximately 18 sessions) I'm asking only $500. Then every 30 days after that is $485.
If that program frequancy does not work for you, I am happy to schedule a custom plan!
I am also offering a discount for any client wanting to address a problem behavior. Price is reduced to $25/hour. See the problem behavior tab for more information.
Price: $0.60/mile
I really enjoy starting horses, it is one of my favorite parts of training. I like to go at the pace of the horse and make sure they have a smooth transition into becoming a riding horse to help prevent behavioral issues down the road
Your horse does not need to have any prior training, although leading and basic handling would be a plus. Although no training is preferable to incorrect training, as that creates more issues, so do not feel like you have to rush through that training to get your horse started.
To start basic saddle prep your horse can be any age, but must be at least two years old (closer to three is ideal for larger horses) for me to put in the first ride.
The buckskin horse pictured above was one that I started about 4 years ago, and is now learning to event.
Refreshers are designed for horses who have been sitting and need to be brought back into work. Whether they were sitting just over the winter or for years, I'm happy to find any training gaps and do my best to bring them back into work appropriately.
There are no requirements for what type of horse or what type of riding. I'm willing to refresh all disciplines.
Price: $25/hour
Problem behaviors are not inherently negative, although they can be, like aggression.
All of these behaviors can make it difficult to handle and interact with a horse, so remedying them can make interaction much easier.
I plan on becoming a certified Equine Behavior Consultant in the near future, which means I will be certified to observe and diagnose equine behavior as well as offering tools and solutions to horse owners so we can work together towards a long term solution.
For the certification exam I need a few recent case studies (descriptive accounts of times I worked with a horse and owner pair on a specific problem) and am offering a discount for someone who is willing to work with me on a problem behavior start to finish (or to a major milestone) so I can use the experience for a case study. I also ask that if you were happy with the work I did, that you'd consider writing a reference letter for my certification.
Sometime your horse doesn't need training and simply just needs exercise. If you lack time or don't feel comfortable on that horse yet, I'm happy to put in the miles and keep them in work for you.
Gentling can mean many things, most people associate it with wild or feral horses, which is true, but it can also apply to horses who may have had a negative experience or have not been handled in many years.
I enjoy gentling and being able to help a fearful horse become more comfortable.
My most recent case was a pair of mini mules who were very uncomfortable with humans, they are slowly making progress, but are now leading and were able to have their hooves trimmed.
General training is here to be the catch-all for everything that doesn't fit into the other categories.
Please reach out with any sort of training questions, I'd love to tackle them with you!
