Welcome!

My name is Abby Stoliecki, I have been around horses my entire life and have been actively training my own for around 5 years. I am primarily an english rider but occasionally participate in western riding, usually on the trails outside of show season. I enjoy eventing, although I rode solely dressage for a few years I was able to get back into jumping and bring up a young horse about 4 years ago. I was an active member of Pony Club for many years and was able to obtain my C1 horsemanship rating as well as participate in teaching the younger members.

I have experience with starting horses, groundwork, bridleless and liberty work, as well as behavior modification using tools like counter conditioning. I started my own horse about 4 years ago and really loved the process, since then I have enjoyed building on his training, as well as starting other people's horses. I think a lot of training can and should be accomplished from the ground, between lunging, utilizing ground poles and various posturing exercises. Quite a few years ago I trained my arabian gelding to ride bridleless and it was one of the most fun things I ever did. I also have began to teach my younger gelding to ride bridless. One of my goals is to start a horse completely bridleless. I have been studying equine behavior for a while now, as well as least invasive, minimally aversive training methods, and using things like classical and operant conditioning to teach new behaviors, and counter conditioning to retrain horses to have a positive association with previously negative experiences.

About a year ago I started offering my services to the public, since then I have given lessons to a variety of students, both on their personal horses as well as on my own. I have also had a few training projects, including two cute mini mules that were very fearful of humans. I hope to continue expanding my client list and adding more services.

I plan to continue growing my buisness as a career and keep building my knowledge. Within the next year I plan to become a Certified Equine Behavior Consultant through the IAABC and an Equine Dental Technician as well as much more!
